PETALING JAYA, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Provider of financial protection guided by Islamic principles and values Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd (Takaful IKHLAS) brought cheers to 25 poor children in the Petaling Jaya district recently by taking them out for Hari Raya shopping and treating them to a breaking-of-fast dinner afterwards.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Petaling Jaya branch of Selangor Tithe Board.
Through this programme, the children, aged ranging from five to 17 years, were taken out to a shopping complex in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, where Takaful IKHLAS picked up the tabs for all their purchase of clothes and shoes, before ending the evening with a sumptuous iftar dinner treat, the company said in a statement, Thursday.
Takaful IKHLAS has allocated up to RM250 for each child, said Chief Operating Officer Wan Mohd Fadzlullah in the statement.
The company also contributed RM200 each for nine children who could not make it to the outing.
Wan Mohd Fadzlullah said, the programme was one of the company's ways in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
"Besides, the children got to know our staff, who could be like foster brothers and sisters to them," he said.
Takaful IKHLAS, which started its operation in July 2003, is a subsidiary company of MNRB Holdings Berhad, an investment holding company listed in the main board of Bursa Malaysia of which the major share holder is Permodalan Nasional Berhad through the Amanah Saham Bumiputera scheme.
